The phrase hi-tech dark age was made for this production. A man living in a hi-tech future is thrown into confusion by a computer error. The error is represented in the show by another man, who replicates himself like a computer virus. Every effort is made to rectify the problem, but the only solution is an override necessitating the removal of the man's humanity. The dance and acrobatics are very effectively combined with the visual screen projections. The music of the club scene conjures up a very fast but fearful future. The result is a very powerful vision of a dark futuristic society. It would be nice, though, if someone could write a play about the positive possibilities of living in a hi-tech society, how we could be liberated from day to day drudgery, allowing time for people's creativity to develop. Maybe next year. 30 July to 25
August.
