No lack of argument

No lack of argument

This week on CW, Andrew Haydon reviews two dramas about the crisis: David Hare’s The Power of Yes and Lucy Prebble’s Enron, while Giulia Merlo is moved by Lucy Kirkwood’s play about human trafficking at the Arcola. Ion Martea reports from the Times BFI London Film Festival, which opened with the escapist but profound Fantastic Mr. Fox. Chris Kerr reviews Andrew Motion’s The Cinder Path and ponders the meaning of ‘public’ poetry. And Patrick West reviews Geoffrey Ben-Nathan’s book proposing an official rite of passage for teenagers.

The Battle of Ideas Satellite programme continues in Brighton with The Future of Collaboration: Sharing and Work in the Networked Age on Saturday 17 October, and in London with Museums for World Peace? on Wednesday 21 October, Drawing the line: political cartooning in an inoffensive age on Thursday 22 October and Space: from infinite dreams to recurring nightmares on Friday 23 October.
