Growing pains
This week on CW, a final set of reviews from Matt Trueman at the Edinburgh Fringe, including a detailed consideration of Ontroerend Goed’s much-debated Teenage Riot. Back in London, Matt finds an exemplary piece of fringe theatre in the Old Red Lion’s The Maddening Rain, even if its political message is a little late. Dan Schneider delves into the archive and reviews two very different films beginning with the words, ‘I am…’, and Mike Jakeman reviews Miguel Syjuco’s Man Asia Prize-winning novel, Ilustrado. Meanwhile, Karl Sharro argues that attempts to present urban farming as anything more than a wholesome hobby amount to a disavowal of social progress.
