CW editorial note - 28 August 2008
Edinburgh Fringe and an historical perspectiveDespite news that Edinburgh Fringe director, Jon Morgan resigns today following a 10% drop in ticket sales this year, the show must go on. This week Culture Wars begins our full frontal review retrospective of all things Edinfest, with a clutch of Fringe theatre reviews along with coverage of the book festival, and comedy to come.
And a look backwards with Jeremy Black’s The Curse of History, reviewed by Mark Taylor, sets the restrospective tone of this week’s book coverage, Karl Sharro puts the record straight on Lebanon’s past, and Nathan Coombs brings back a photoessay from Monument Park, Budapest, whilst Nicky Charlish visits the Hadrian Exhibition at the British Museum. Plus the final installment of Mr Geoff Kidder’s Olympic blog.
